What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Michigan Office Environments?
The Warehouse Assistant supports the Warehouse Manager across all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, install scheduling, inventory control, and warehouse maintenance. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping things organized, accurate, and moving.
Key Responsibilities• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing lists and purchase orders, and report any damage or discrepancies.
• Unload trucks and stage materials for upcoming installations.
• Assist the Warehouse Manager with install scheduling, preparing materials and tools so crews are ready to go.
• Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, tagging, and updates to inventory records.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe—floors clear, aisles accessible, product properly stored and protected.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other material-handling equipment (training provided for the right candidate).
• Load install trucks and, as needed, support install crews in the field.
• Handle basic warehouse maintenance tasks and flag larger repairs to the Warehouse Manager.
• Communicate with the sales, design, and project coordination teams to keep projects on track.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred (receiving, inventory, shipping, or similar).
• Comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs regularly and being on your feet throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail—especially with inventory counts, labels, and packing slips.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to manage your time without constant supervision.
• Basic computer skills for inventory systems, email, and scheduling tools.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred (we'll train and certify the right person).
• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Team player with a positive attitude—we work closely together and it shows.
• Some knowledge of furniture systems, architectural walls, or similar a plus.
• $20/hour starting pay
