What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician position at Michigan Healthcare Professionals, P.C.?
GENERAL SUMMARY: Contribute compassionate, patient-centered care in a primary care and addiction medicine practice setting. The physician will be responsible for meeting, assessing and diagnosing patients in our clinic and provide them with healthcare services that meet state and national standards of caregiving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a roster of patients by providing compassionate care.
- Primary Care and Addiction Medicine specialty.
- See patients daily in the office and visit them in a hospital setting when required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and/or therapy as necessary.
- Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up-to-date before prescribing medication/treatment plan.
- Explain medical procedures thoroughly.
- Recommend appropriate lifestyle changes to improve quality of life.
- Explain test results and provide patients with plan of care details
- Consult with other physicians as needed about patient’s specific needs.
- Experience treating lifestyle addiction related disorders is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Comply with all laws applicable to primary care medicine, including HIPAA. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Provide primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting. Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments and health regimens to treat patient health issues. Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues. Experience treating lifestyle addition related disorders is preferred.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION :
Current and valid state medical license required. Doctorate degree from an accredited United States medical school. Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution. Board certification in primary care or related field from said residency. Current State of Michigan Medical Practitioner License. Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing.
OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:
Computer knowledge, charting software, documenting patient history in patient charts. Excellent bedside manner and time management skills.
