Role Overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Medical Billing & Coding Instructor to guide students through the fundamentals of healthcare documentation, coding systems, and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for professionals who love teaching, mentoring, and shaping future healthcare leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding standards
- Create and evaluate classroom assignments and manage a productive learning environment
- Collaborate with students to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Prepare students for national certification and employment in billing & coding roles
- Stay current with industry regulations, coding updates, and best practices
- Uphold Academy policies related to attendance, instruction, and classroom conduct
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Billing & Coding Specialist or related field
- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments
- Ability to work independently and meet instructional deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Prior teaching or mentoring experience preferred
