What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation relationships to produce philanthropic support for LSA.
  • Research and develop engagement efforts for prospective and existing corporate and foundation prospects.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans for cultivation and stewardship strategies and tools in partnership with staff, faculty, and leadership.
  • Provide faculty and research administrators with consulting services regarding donor and proposal strategy, proposal development, and submission.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Foundation Relations colleagues across campus to develop and strengthen best practices
  • Assess the potential for corporate engagement (philanthropy, sponsorships, recruitment and research) and design a pilot program with achievable goals to increase corporate philanthropic support for LSA.

Who We Are

Job Summary: As the Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, you will be a primary contact between faculty in the College of Literature, Science, and Arts (LSA) and corporate and foundation funding partners, with a core responsibility of generating philanthropic support for LSA faculty, departments, and units. As a member of both the LSA Advancement and Office of University Development Corporate and Foundation Relations teams, you will develop new and increased funding support opportunities from corporations and professional foundations; help develop a plan for corporate engagement; represent LSA Corporate and Foundation Relations in internal and external relationships; and build partnerships across campus and across the donor pool.

Reports to: Senior Director, Foundation Relations (LSA)

Oversees: Interns, student workers

This position is hybrid with onsite requirements in Ann Arbor.

Required Qualifications*

  • 4 years experience or bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in foundation, corporate, or other fundraising, and understanding of funding and accountability requirements.
  • Grant writing experience
  • Experience with project management, strategic planning, program planning, budgets, and data analysis
  • Computing and technical skills
