Responsibilities
- Patient Consultation: Meet with patients to discuss their oral health needs and treatment options. Explain treatment plans, procedures, and associated costs in a clear and comprehensive manner, ensuring patient understanding and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Treatment Coordination: Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans for patients. Schedule and coordinate appointments for various treatments, including consultations, dental cleanings, restorative procedures, and surgeries, ensuring efficient use of available resources.
- Insurance Verification and Financial Planning: Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits, providing accurate estimates of costs and coordinating with insurance providers for pre-authorization as necessary. Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and explore alternative payment options, such as financing or payment plans.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment plans, and insurance information. Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies regarding patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Patient Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with patients by delivering exceptional customer service. Follow up with patients to address post-treatment questions or concerns, ensuring their satisfaction and fostering long-term patient loyalty.
- Referral Coordination: Collaborate with referring dentists, specialists, and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient referrals and ensure seamless continuity of care. Communicate relevant patient information and treatment plans effectively to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Continuing Education and Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on advancements in dental treatments, technologies, and insurance regulations. Attend workshops, seminars, and relevant training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills, ultimately improving patient care and treatment coordination.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in dental assisting, dental hygiene, or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a dental practice or healthcare setting, preferably in a treatment coordination or patient care role.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, treatments, and terminology.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with dental practice management software and electronic health records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, dentists, and the administrative team.
- Outstanding organizational abilities and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and treatment plans concurrently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle patient concerns or difficult situations professionally.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
