Responsibilities: 

• Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies 

• Review operative reports to identify diagnostic and procedural information, verify for accuracy, and ensure codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately 

• Work with clearing house rejections and insurance front-end rejections 

• Post insurance payments 

• Work on claim denials and write appeal letters for denied claims as needed 

• Answer patient or insurance telephone inquiries 

• Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems 

• Proficient in CPT and ICD-10 Coding 

Qualifications: 

• CPC Certification  

• >2 years of billing experience 

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 

• Excellent customer service and computer skills 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Friendly, personable demeanor 

• Detail oriented
