Role Description
This is a full-time role serving West Michigan, however, exact work location will be determined based on the selected candidate , with opportunities for remote work. As a Recycling and Waste Minimization Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and promoting waste reduction and recycling programs. Core responsibilities include providing technical assistance on sustainable waste management practices, conducting audits, analyzing data to improve operations, and collaborating with stakeholders to advance recycling initiatives across the state. The role also involves preparing reports, managing projects, and contributing to educational outreach efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field
- Minimum of Four years of professional engineering or scientific experience in an environmental protection or regulatory program
- Proficiency in waste reduction strategies, recycling practices, and sustainability initiatives
- Experience in program development, project management, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong analytical and research skills for data collection, audits, and reporting
- Effective communication skills, including public speaking, training, and report writing
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and best practices related to recycling and waste management
- Proficiency in relevant software tools, including spreadsheets and project management software
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in hybrid and in-office settings
Salary : $34 - $50
