JOB POSTING – MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Cedar Springs Public Schools encourages qualified individuals to apply for the position of Middle School Principal. Our middle school serves approximately 670 students (grades 6, 7 and 8) and approximately 40 staff members. The primary responsibility of the principal is to make connections with students, drive school improvement, and create conditions in which our students and staff can thrive. Start Date: July 1, 2026
Salary Range: $111,477-$123,250, based on administrative salary table and commensurate with experience
Calendar: 225 days

Cedar Springs Public Schools is a Preschool through 12th-grade public school consisting of over 3,000 students and nearly 400 employees. We are located within the city limits of Cedar Springs, Michigan in Kent County. Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD). We are unique in that our schools are all located within a single campus setting with the exception of the Middle School which is located 1 mile south of the main campus. The setting is secure, picturesque, and allows easy access for families participating in activities for more than one child.
Our exemplary educational system is a result of the collaborative efforts of parents, students, school and community. Together, we are providing opportunities for students to reach their full potential by providing a well-rounded educational experience. WE are RED HAWKS!

Requirements
- Minimum of MA degree in Administration or Educational Leadership
- Valid MI Administrative Certificate required
- Valid MI Teaching Certificate preferred
- Previous building level administrative experience preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching or other relevant experience in school environment
- Leadership abilities in planning, supervision, human relations, communication and staff development
- Strong background in curriculum development, implementation and assessment
- History of positive relationships with students, staff and parents
- Demonstrated strengths in communications with all stakeholders and in varying settings
- Possesses a positive attitude and is dedicated to the development of a healthy school culture
- High standards, ethics, honesty and integrity
- Flexibility
- Knowledgeable in best practices relative to the middle school learner
