POSITION TITLE: E.F. Rittmueller Middle School Teacher

START DATE: 2025-2026 School Year
EFR Middle School seeks to hire a dynamic teacher. The position requires the applicant to be highly qualified with an eligible and applicable Michigan secondary teaching certificate in content area with the endorsement of EX or DX and one additional certification preferred or a valid Michigan elementary teaching certificate with one of the following endorsements; K-5 All Subjects with additional endorsements in one to two content areas or K-8 All Subjects (ZC).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes a professional image of the school district and encourages community partnerships that enhance district programs.
- Promotes and demonstrates student success utilizing designated curriculum and other appropriate learning activities.
- Supports an inclusive educational environment. Provides opportunities for all students to participate.
- Designs, plans, and implements lessons based on standards prescribed by the Board. Executes lessons using best practices and engaging instructional strategies.
- Communicates clearly both in verbal and written content and demonstrates strong skills in listening, collaborating, relationship building, and problem-solving.
- Collaborates with District stakeholders to improve instructional programs for student success.
- Promotes the proper use, care, and security of school property and spaces.
- Takes all reasonable precautions to ensure safety. Provides appropriate student supervision.
- Updates/revises curriculum as required by the Board.
- Keeps teacher certification current through local, state and national professional development opportunities.
- Travels to meetings and work assignments and maintains regular in-person attendance. Teaches classes as scheduled.
- Executes instructional and extra-curricular responsibilities, including occasional evening and weekend events.
- Uses diplomacy and exercises self-control when dealing with other individuals. Meets physical demands of position: balancing, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and standing may be required along with lifting, carrying, and moving work-related supplies/equipment.
