Position Details
Notre Dame Prep is accepting applications for a Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach position. The Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach should use the Notre Dame Mission Statement, that is: “With God we form Christian People, Upright Citizens and Academic Scholars” as the guiding force to provide knowledge, motivation, and leadership on and off the playing field to prepare our students for a successful life. The Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach is expected to add to each student-athlete’s total educational experience by providing an atmosphere conducive to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of athletes.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous head or assistant coaching experience (high school preferred)
- Previous experience competing at the high school, collegiate, or professional level
- Completion of MHSAA CAP Level 1 or 2 prior to the Winter 2025-26 Season
- Completion of VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children course prior to the Winter 2025-26 Season
- Completion of NFHS Concussion in Sports course (or approved alternative) prior to the Winter 2025-26 Season
- CPR/AED Certification prior to the Winter 2025-26 Season
- Knowledge of MHSAA and NFHS playing rules and regulations
- Knowledge of athletic game equipment, protective equipment, uniform standards, and safety standards
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, climb stairs, operate a motor vehicle, and perform job duties in all types of weather
REPORTS TO: Notre Dame Prep Athletic Department
RATE OF PAY: Commensurate with experience
BEGINNING DATE: Winter 2025-26 Season
