Position Details
Duties:
- Work under the supervision of the building administrators to provide mathematical intervention to students.
- Work with at-risk students in a small group setting.
- Track, monitor and incentivize student math achievement.
- Build and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Maintain records as indicated by administration.
- Any other duties as assigned by building administration to support the success of at-risk students.
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree preferred.
- Paraprofessionals must meet one of the following requirements:
- Completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education;
- Obtained an Associate degree; or
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment of knowledge and the ability to assist in instructing:
- Reading, writing and mathematics, or
- Reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness
- The use of effective and acceptable techniques of human relations in dealing with students, staff members, other school officials and parents.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information related to students and school.
- Typing and other office skills (25 wpm).
- Experience working with elementary mathematical instruction preferred.
- Pursuant with State of Michigan Student Safety Legislation all prospective hires must provide fingerprinting and background check results to the District prior to employment.
Rate: Per contract wage schedule
