Assistant Middle School Principal – Job Description (Short Version)
The Assistant Middle School Principal supports the Principal in leading a safe, collaborative, and academically strong school environment. This role focuses on student conduct, instructional support, school operations, and positive community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in the overall administration and daily operation of the school; serve as acting Principal when needed.
- Maintain a positive and effective learning climate and support implementation of curriculum and instructional programs.
- Oversee student conduct, disciplinary procedures, and attendance policies while working closely with support staff to address behavior and student needs.
- Collaborate with Special Education staff on disciplinary processes for students with IEPs.
- Coordinate school safety drills and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Observe and support teachers to promote professional growth and effective instructional practices.
- Manage schedules, assist with budget planning, and coordinate textbooks, supplies, and inventory.
- Support organization of testing, student activities, assemblies, and events.
- Attend school functions and foster positive relationships with families and community partners.
Other Expectations
- Stay informed of best practices in school leadership and participate in professional development. Perform additional duties as assigned to support school success.
