Position Details
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Previous experience in human resources or school district administration strongly desired.
- Knowledge of HR laws, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS/HRMS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
- MSBO Certification preferred
- SHRM Certification preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employee Onboarding & Compliance
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including fingerprinting,
- Communicate Pontiac School District policies, procedures, and rules to assigned
- Apply for substitute permits, career authorizations, and approvals through the Michigan
- Review teacher certification information to ensure compliance with state and district
HR Operations & Data Management
- Process, verify, and maintain all employee documentation, including new hire
- Accurately input and update data within the Human Resource Management System
- Maintain personnel files for active and former employees and ensure proper
- Update union seniority lists monthly and maintain employee evaluation information.
- Prepare and administer employment contracts, including annual salary increases and
- Manage the annual rollover of salary tables and employee pay schedules.
- Create and maintain employee workday calendars by employee group in collaboration
- Review and process extra duty payments in collaboration with the Business Office.
- Serve as a primary HR contact for new and current employees regarding HR-related
- Collaborate with the Business Office to provide information for audits and assist with
- Support the Executive Director of Human Resources in collective bargaining activities
