Position Details
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Music Education (JQ) endorsement or related certification
- Demonstrated ability to teach vocal and instrumental music across K-12 grade levels
- Ability to organize and direct concerts, performances, and school music programs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience directing band and choir programs
- Experience working with students in elementary, middle, and high school settings
- Knowledge of music curriculum development and assessment practices
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in band and choir for students in grades K-12
- Plan and direct school concerts, performances, and special music events
- Maintain inventory and care of school musical instruments and equipment
- Collaborate with staff, administration, parents, and community members to support student success
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
