Position Summary
The Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing classroom environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 months. This role includes supporting each infant’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs, maintaining open communication with families, and working collaboratively with team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and responsive care to infants, including feeding, diapering, and soothing.
- Maintain a consistent daily routine that includes play, rest, and developmental activities.
- Foster secure attachments and encourage early learning through age-appropriate interactions.
- Keep accurate records of daily care, observations, and developmental milestones.
- Communicate with parents regularly through updates and conferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
- Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
- Clearances required: PA State Criminal Background, Child Abuse, NSOR, and FBI Fingerprinting.
- Strong understanding of infant development and safety practices.
- Reliable, nurturing, and patient personality.
