Our Passions:Putting real, wholesome, and delicious food back into people’s pantries.Achieving scale without sacrificing principles like sourcing high-quality organic ingredients, utilizing small-batch production techniques, and offering outstanding fresh-baked flavor.Reducing the environmental impact of food production and distribution, and increasing our positive social impact, with innovative, sustained efforts.Building a positive and productive workplace culture rooted in strong leadership, excellent teamwork, a constant desire to improve, and good old-fashioned entrepreneurial grit.Job Summary:Responsible for developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems for the Company and its supply chain to operate within.This may include auditing to ensure compliance although this may be carried out by a third-party accredited body.The successful candidate will be a strong problem solver who is able to adapt to an ever-growing environment and will never hesitate to roll up their sleeves and help a process.Responsibilities:Perform all duties ascribed to the SQF Practitioner roleLead and manage Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs across the facilityManage Food Safety and Quality departments, including leading and supervising Food Safety Technicians and Plant SanitorMaintain GMP-, HACCP-, SQF-, and FDA-compliant food safety and quality programsManage and investigate customer complaints and related quality dataLead and represent the company during MDH, FDA, SQF, and customer auditsMaintain Non-GMO, Vegan, and other product-specific certificationsMonitor, validate, and inspect food safety and quality documentation and recordsManage the Supplier Approval and Evaluation Program, including compliance verification through specification and COA reviewManage contractor and co-manufacturer approvals, including routine service providersSupport Procurement with supplier risk assessments and food safety guidanceEnsure raw materials, WIP, and finished products meet quality and food safety specificationsLead Food Safety and HACCP teams, including meetings, reviews, and trainingPlan, manage, and conduct internal food safety auditsProvide food safety and GMP training and ongoing guidance to team membersManage the CAPA program, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementationConduct mock recalls and traceability exercisesManage environmental and allergen monitoring programsRequirements & Experience:• Bachelor Degree in Food Science or equivalent• At least 2 years’ experience in the field of Food/Beverage in Food Safety/QA• Knowledge of FDA and GMP standards• Must be an SQF practitioner• HACCP certification preferred• Familiar with food manufacturing process and equipment• Ability to do mathematical calculations with precision and consistency• Excellent oral and written communication skills• Ability to work in fast-past environment• Strong interpersonal skills• Ability to work independently as well as function effectively and comfortably as a multidisciplinary team member where team results are considered more important than individual contributions• Experience with Third Party Food Audits is a plus• Authorized to work in the U.S.Benefits:Medical Plan and prescription program administered by CareFirst with employer contribution of 50%- 401k with employer match of up to 4% of annual earnings, immediately upon hire - Paid holidays, 6 annually 1 additional float day- Accrued Paid Time Off- One week of accrued SICK time - Employee discount on all granola products
