Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role based in Vancouver, WA. The Certified Medical Assistant will support dermatology providers by rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, chief complaints, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures. Daily responsibilities include assisting with dermatologic procedures (such as biopsies and excisions), setting up and maintaining sterile fields, handling specimens, and ensuring exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized. The role also includes managing patient flow, updating electronic medical records, coordinating referrals, handling patient communications, and supporting front-office functions such as scheduling and check-in/check-out as needed. The Medical Assistant will collaborate closely with clinicians and staff to promote efficient operations and a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Medical Assisting, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with dermatologic procedures, and supporting provider workflow.
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology, especially in dermatology, to accurately document and communicate clinical information.
- Experience working in a Medical Office environment, including coordination with clinical and administrative teams.
- Demonstrated Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, clear communication, and maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Ability to manage Medical Records accurately in an electronic health record (EHR) system, including charting, documentation, and data integrity.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) credential and compliance with applicable state requirements.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Prior dermatology or specialty clinic experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn dermatology-specific procedures and protocols is essential.
