Michel Allen & Sinor is hiring a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our employment law team and assist clients throughout the EEOC process. This position plays an important role in managing client communication, tracking deadlines, preparing correspondence, and ensuring filings are completed accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable communicating with clients, government agencies, and attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during the EEOC process
- Communicate with the EEOC regarding charges, notices, deadlines, and case status
- Calendar and monitor EEOC deadlines and important case milestones
- Draft correspondence to clients, opposing parties, and the EEOC
- Assist with preparing and filing documents with the EEOC
- Organize and maintain client files, case documents, and communications
- Follow up with clients to obtain documents, facts, and updates needed for their claims
- Coordinate with attorneys and staff to move EEOC matters forward efficiently
- Provide professional, compassionate support to clients during a stressful legal process
Qualifications:
- Prior legal assistant, paralegal, or administrative experience preferred
- Employment law or EEOC experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple client matters at once
- High attention to detail
- Professional phone and email communication skills
- Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive client information
- Reliable, proactive, and able to follow processes carefully
