Job Summary: As the Assistant Designer, you will partner with the team to create presentation and mood boards, assisting with trend research, as well as creating and updating tech packs. The Assistant Designer will join a team of passionate and energetic creative individuals working towards designing each collection to be the best representation of the brand. The ideal candidate will be a highly energetic, efficient self-starter that enjoys and works well with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating inspiration boards including mood boards and sketch boards
- Create and keep line sheets accurate and up to date
- Assist with CAD sketches, detail construction call outs as well as tech pack creation
- Responsible for style input into PLM/excel
- Attend all fittings and keep detailed notes for Design reference
- Proactively update design sheets based on fit and design meeting updates
- Work closely with cross functional teams during the development process
- Assist in all meeting prep
- Adhere to time and action calendar
- Contribute positively to team dynamics and assist wherever possible
- Ability to follow through on tasks assigned to you
- Able to maintain a constant sense of urgency while being creative
- Other duties as assigned and needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Merchandising or Design
- 1–3-year previous experience
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, development process
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office- Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Passion for Women’s wear/innovation
- Excellent eye for colors, fabric weight, print
- Hand sketching skills is a plus
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and presentation
- Positive attitude and always a team player with a one-team mindset
- Must work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Extremely detail-oriented, fast learner, and organized
