What are the responsibilities and job description for the Winery Harvest Seasonal Job position at Michael Shaps Wineworks?
Michael Shaps Wineworks is seeking to hire several winery harvest interns to work with our highly experienced winemaking team at our Harris Creek facility. We are a fast paced, quality focused team working with fruit farmed at some of the most highly regarded vineyards throughout the state of Virginia for our quality oriented contract winemaking clients.
This position will be involved in all aspects of processing of grapes at our Charlottesville facility including receiving and weighing fruit, press loading and cleaning, pump overs, punch downs, bin washing and general sanitation.
Required Skills:
- Ability to follow written and verbal work orders.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
- Must enjoy a fast paced, quality-focused production environment.
- Punctual and dependable.
Preferred Skills:
- Forklift certification.
- Ability to drive a pickup and box truck.
- Mechanical Aptitude.
