In addition to expertly operating espresso machines and creating exceptional drinks, this role puts you at the forefront of building and owning our complete drink menu. As the Lead Barista, you will also play a crucial role in training other team members on the intricacies of our menu and the proper use of various machines required. Responsibilities:
- Craft and serve a diverse range of coffee and espresso-based drinks, teas, and smoothies, setting the standard for quality and creativity.
- Build and own the complete drink menu, introducing new and exciting offerings while ensuring consistency and customer satisfaction.
- Operate espresso machines and other beverage equipment with precision, maintaining a high level of expertise.
- Train and mentor other team members on the menu, recipes, and proper use of various machines to ensure consistency in drink preparation.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and attentive manner, providing recommendations and answering inquiries about the menu.
- Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar area, including equipment cleaning and maintenance.
- Handle cash transactions, operate a point-of-sale system, and ensure accurate order processing.
- Collaborate with management on inventory management, ordering, and optimizing the efficiency of the coffee bar.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Lead Barista or in a similar role is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, and espresso machine operation.
- Ability to create and innovate a diverse and appealing drink menu.
- Strong leadership and training skills with a passion for sharing coffee expertise.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions.
