Job Description
Public Construction Assistant Project Manager - Brooklyn, NY
- Assist in the management of public construction projects for NYC and New York State agencies.
- Prepare, track, and maintain RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project logs.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure project goals are met.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with agency requirements and contract specifications.
- Monitor schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and project milestones.
- Support progress reporting, project meetings, and client communications.
- Track outstanding items and follow up with project stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.
- Assist with project closeout, including punch list completion and turnover documentation.
- Ensure project files are organized, accurate, and audit-ready throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide administrative and operational support to Project Managers on projects exceeding $40M in value.

The Successful Applicant
Public Construction Assistant Project Manager - Brooklyn, NY:
- 3 years of construction project management or project engineering experience.
- Experience supporting public-sector construction projects for NYC and/or New York State agencies.
- Strong understanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, document control, and project closeout processes.
- Experience working on construction projects valued at $20 million .
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage large volumes of project documentation and paperwork.
- Knowledge of public bid procedures, contract administration, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
