Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor specializing in site development, utilities, roadway improvements, infrastructure, and heavy civil projects throughout New Jersey. With a reputation for quality workmanship, safety, and client satisfaction, the company continues to expand and is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support its growing project portfolio.
Responsibilities
Job Description
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents throughout all phases of construction.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, owners, and field personnel.
- Track project progress and prepare status reports.
- Monitor project costs and assist with forecasting and purchasing activities.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
- Perform site visits to evaluate progress and address project issues.
- Help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

The Successful Applicant
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in civil construction, heavy civil, site development, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Experience with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both in the office and at construction sites as needed.
- EIT certification is a plus but not required.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary: $80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.
