Job Description

  • Reporting into the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Gather, document, and organize surgeon feedback from evaluations, labs, and clinical use of spinal implants and instruments
  • Analyze feedback to identify opportunities for design, usability, and workflow improvements
  • Convert clinical insights into clear engineering requirements for design and R&D teams
  • Collaborate with surgeons, internal engineers, and external manufacturing partners to assess prototypes and production tools
  • Track design iterations and maintain detailed feedback and change documentation
  • Support verification, validation, and usability testing activities
  • Contribute to the development of surgical technique guides and training materials
  • Assist with regulatory documentation, risk assessments, and design control processes
  • Participate in cross‑functional reviews to ensure clinical input is embedded throughout development

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least three years' experience in medical device development within spinal products
  • Strong understanding of surgical workflows
  • Comfortable engaging with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with design controls, usability engineering, and risk management
  • Exposure to additive manufacturing and FDA Class II/ISO‑regulated environments would be advantageous
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to translate complex feedback into practical design solutions
