Description
- Assist attorneys in preparing and managing personal injury cases, particularly those involving premises liability.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather information and provide case updates.
- Conduct legal research and draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Coordinate with medical providers to obtain and review medical records and bills.
- Assist in preparing cases for trial, including organizing exhibits and trial documents.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings as needed.
- Ensure compliance with legal deadlines and court requirements.
Profile
A successful Personal Injury Paralegal (Premises) should have:
- 3 years of experience as a personal injuyr paralegal, ideally with exposure to premises liability specifically.
- Strong understanding of NYS and NYC statues, court rules, and legal procedures.
- NYS Notary Public license (or willingness to obtain one)
- Bilingual in Spanish is a strong preference
- Familiary with SmartAdvocate is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and legal professionals.
- A detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in documentation and case management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully onsite position.
