Job Description
- Lead capital equipment and infrastructure projects from concept through implementation.
- Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, technical documentation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support for production operations and technical troubleshooting.
- Identify root causes of process issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Support the design, implementation, and optimisation of automation systems.
- Standardise manufacturing equipment, controls, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering teams, and external vendors on technical projects.
- Support preventative maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse production data and implement process improvements based on performance metrics.
- Provide technical training and support to stakeholders throughout the organisation.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering or process engineering role.
- Proven project management experience delivering capital or operational improvement projects.
- Experience within plastics manufacturing environments preferred.
- Knowledge of injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion, or related plastics processing technologies.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC).
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with Six Sigma principles; Green Belt or Blck Belt certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel functionality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
