Description
Robotics & Automation
- Program, modify, and optimize industrial robot systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa/Motoman, or similar) for welding, material handling, and automated processes.
- Diagnose robotic faults, perform path adjustments, and ensure repeatable, high‑quality operation within automated cells.
- Support integration of new robotic systems, end‑of‑arm tooling, and automation components into production equipment.
Controls & Electrical Support
- Troubleshoot control system issues, including PLCs, HMIs, safety circuits, sensors, and wiring.
- Assist with commissioning of new automation systems, including I/O setup, electrical testing, and system validation.
- Collaborate with Controls Engineers on system upgrades and modifications.
Mechanical & Welding Knowledge
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to ensure proper function, alignment, and performance of automated tooling and fixtures.
- Support robotic welding applications-understanding weld sequencing, torch angles, wire feed, and weld parameters is a major plus.
- Participate in root cause analysis for weld quality issues, robotic performance, and equipment reliability.
On-the-Fly Troubleshooting & Support
- Respond quickly to machine/robot alarms and production stoppages.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for robotic cells and automation equipment.
- Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and project teams to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Profile
- 2-5 years of hands-on robotic programming experience (preferred: FANUC, ABB, Motoman/Yaskawa).
- Strong understanding of controls, automation, and electromechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of industrial welding processes (MIG/TIG/laser)-robotic welding experience is a major advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience with PLC-based systems, machine wiring, sensors, and safety components is highly beneficial.
- Strong mechanical aptitude-comfortable working in a shop-floor automation environment.
- Effective communicator capable of working both independently and collaboratively
Job Offer
- Salary: $80,000 - $110,000
