Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in Mars Hill, Maine. Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product.
Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position will provide technical support in the manufacturing plants. Quality assurance technicians (QAT's) provide guidance to Operations on technical requirements and specifications. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine CCP/PC verification checks.
  2. Perform routine CQP (quality) verification checks.
  3. Perform routine daily SSOP/GMP audits and observations/documentation.
  4. Perform environmental monitoring swabs.
  5. Perform product sampling pulls.
  6. Perform Pre-op Inspection.
  7. Participate in sensory panels.
  8. Manage Holds Tags on the floor.
  9. Product testing for chemical attributes on the floor.
  10. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner.
  11. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc.
  12. All other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Excellent reasoning and mathematical Skills
  • Strong leadership skills

Education/Experience:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar job function
  • Food manufacturing experience desired
  • Experience in reviewing results and correlating to acceptable/unacceptable results
