- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns to inform treatment plans
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding for insurance purposes
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control procedures and managing dental instruments with precision
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix is essential for efficient documentation and patient management
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is require
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times
