What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Biller/Coder position at Michael A. Parentis, MD - Buffalo Orthopedics, PC?
Buffalo Orthopedics is a very busy single surgeon practice with one nurse practitioner. Office locations include Orchard Park and Williamsville. Orthopedic billing/coding experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT & HCPCS Codes along with the correct usage of modifiers
- Daily Data Entry and Submission of Medical Claims- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, preferred knowledge of Orthopedics
- Insurance Payment posting and reconciliation
-Patient payment posting- Working all current and aged accounts receivable
-Experience in all insurance carriers along with Workers Compensation and No Fault
- Working knowledge of all insurance carrier websites such as Availity, United Healthcare, WNYHealthenet, Carisk, Changehealthcare/RPA
-Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets/ ability to produce A/R billing reports
- Medent experience required
-Assist patients in regards to billing questions/statements
-At least 5 years of medical billing experience required/medical coding experience preferred
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
