The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking a Service Plaza Janitorial Services Associate who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the grounds of the Miccosukee Plaza, with a primary focus on restroom facilities. This role ensures all public restrooms are consistently cleaned, fully stocked, and presentable at all times. The position plays a critical role in enhancing customer experience, promoting health standards, and upholding the overall image of the plaza.
Key Responsibilities
Restroom Attendant Duties (Primary Focus)
Continuously monitor and maintain cleanliness of all restroom facilities throughout assigned shifts.
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, and removing trash.
Clean and sanitize floors, toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, countertops, doors, and partitions.
Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitizers as needed.
Promptly address wet floors, odors, and unsanitary conditions.
Conduct and document regular restroom inspections using established checklists.
Report plumbing issues, leaks, or maintenance concerns immediately.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Provide courteous assistance to patrons when needed while maintaining professionalism.
General Janitorial Duties
Maintain cleanliness of common areas including courtyard, and walkways.
Empty outdoor trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean floors using appropriate equipment (sweepers, squeegees, mops, etc.).
Support cleaning of outdoor areas, including walkways and picnic areas if assigned.
Perform exterior window cleaning as scheduled.
Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleaning schedules.
Qualifications
Previous janitorial or custodial experience, especially in high-traffic public restrooms, is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent cleaning schedule.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25–50 pounds for extended periods.
Work Environment
Fast-paced, high-traffic public environment.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals and biological waste.
Requires flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
