What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Processor position at Miccosukee Tribe of Indians?
The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is currently seeking to hire a Claims Processor to work in our Health Department. The Claims Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely processing, submission, monitoring, and follow-up of healthcare claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers. This position supports the Health Department’s revenue cycle by helping ensure appropriate reimbursement for services provided, reducing preventable claim denials and payment delays, identifying underpayments, and resolving outstanding claims. The Claims Processor maintains accurate billing and claims records, communicates with payers regarding claims status and reimbursement issues, and supports compliance with applicable HIPPA, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer specific requirements. This position also provides billing and claims information to support financial reporting, operational planning, and departmental decision-making. Previous experience in this type of role is required.
