Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Mica Town Brewing Company’s taprooms, ensuring both locations operate efficiently, profitably, and consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences. This leadership role oversees staff management, scheduling, inventory control, vendor relations, event coordination, marketing support, and facility organization while serving as the primary point of contact for taproom operations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on operational support. This position requires regular communication with ownership, staff, vendors, and community partners while maintaining the high standards and culture that define Mica Town Brewing Company.

Core Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Staff Management
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train taproom staff.
- Create and maintain employee schedules, keeping schedules published at least two weeks in advance.
- Manage employee communication, including weekly staff updates and schedule changes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and operational issues.
Taproom Operations
- Oversee daily operations of both Marion and Nebo locations.
- Ensure taprooms are fully stocked, organized, clean, and guest-ready with assistance from bar staff.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Manage inventory levels for:
- Merchandise
- Snacks and packaged goods
- Office supplies
- Cleaning supplies
- Bar supplies
- Promotional materials
- Conduct regular inventory audits and remove expired products.
- Place orders through approved vendors and purchasing platforms.
Point of Sale & Administrative Management
- Maintain Square POS and other operational software systems.
- Ensure menus, website, products, inventory, pricing, discounts, and promotions are current and accurate.
- Maintain organized office spaces, records, and operational documentation.
- Fulfill online merchandise orders and ship as needed.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Assist with weekly and monthly marketing initiatives.
- Create and schedule social media content for Facebook and Instagram, including event pages.
- Support email marketing campaigns.
- Assist with maintaining brand standards across all customer-facing channels.
Event & Vendor Coordination
- Book and manage food truck partnerships.
- Coordinate, develop, and distribute monthly taproom events and entertainment calendars.
- Assist ownership in planning special events, festivals, and promotional activities.
Seasonal & Strategic Projects
- Coordinate seasonal menu rollouts and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with cocktail menu development and implementation.
- Manage seasonal decorations and merchandising displays.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Hospitality, brewery, restaurant, bar, or retail management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with employee scheduling, hiring, and team leadership required.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management preferred.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Comfortable with technology, including:
- POS systems
- Google Workspace/Microsoft Office Suite
- Canva
- Social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Transportation
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required.
Schedule Expectations
- Primarily Monday–Friday administrative schedule.
- Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Participation in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month.
- Flexibility to assist with taproom coverage during staffing shortages, special events, or peak business periods.
