TITLE: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor FLSA: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
This position maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Electrical knowledge is required This position is required to work on all assigned task and will work under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to repair, troubleshoot and upgrade a variety of industrial machines and equipment in our steel manufacturing facility. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for completing maintenance service and repairs of plant equipment, machinery, etc. This role is also responsible for maintaining buildings and plant facilities in clean, orderly and working conditions, in addition to, building a positive working relationship across other departments with a main focus on production.
Education And Experience
High School Diploma or GED, plus 4-6 years of progressive related work experience
An active Journeyman license and maintain for continued employment.
Qualifications
Knowledge of industrial maintenance
Knowledge of equipment maintenance and technical understanding
Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and requirements
Knowledge of Safety Rules and Procedures
Knowledge of equipment maintenance and technical understanding
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry
Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
Must be able to follow deadlines and work under pressure
Must be able to management deadlines with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must be ability to read, write and speak English
Skill in use of power tools
Skill in effective communication
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Successfully pass an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic test, a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.
Responsibilities
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematic, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
