POSITION OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT

Project Lead the Way Design & Modeling Gateway to Technology Instructor (assigned to middle school)

General Description:  The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Gateway to Technology Instructor at Miamisburg will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the PLTW Gateway to Technology program and the MVCTC in general.  The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including basic engineering design and biomedical science principles, along with enhancing critical-thinking and leadership qualities which are necessary as they progress in their academic program.  The PLTW Gateway to Technology Instructor will report to the Satellite Supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Must meet all the requirements governing teacher education and licensure in an area licensed to teach the course, attend the Summer 2026 PLTW training after accepting an offer of employment from the District, and attend other required PLTW trainings in future summers (there are multiple valid licenses to teach the course including: 7-12 Math, 7-12 Science, Agriscience, Electrical Trades, and Graphic Occupations)

2. Must possess or obtain the middle school career technical validation

3. Must possess interest in young people

4. Possess good knowledge of basic engineering concepts and of the content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of the instructional specialty to which assigned

5. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on program and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned

6. Must have the ability to integrate instructional technology

7. Ability to move about in classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior

8. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents

9. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

10. Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students

Length of Contract:                185 days

Starting Date:                         2026-27 school year
