POSITION OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT
Instructional Assistant
General Description: The Instructional Assistant monitors students and performs a variety of clerical and instructional support tasks relating to the operation of Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC). This person will perform in such a manner as to ensure the best education possible for the students of MVCTC. In particular, this individual will provide essential support to preschool-aged children within our early childhood program.
Qualifications:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation.
- Possess and maintain an Educational Aide or Student Monitor permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education once employed by MVCTC.
- Current State of Ohio Cosmetology Instructor License (or ability to obtain licensure upon hire).
- Must obtain and continue to hold Ohio School Van Driver certification.
- Experience using a computer and/or aptitude for learning software applications.
- Possess above average arithmetic and grammar skills.
- Experience working with high school aged students and a genuine enjoyment of working with young adults.
- Relate to high school students, parents, or guardians, and staff in a professional manner.
- Should be punctual and maintain regular attendance; dress professionally; exhibit a professional attitude; demonstrate ability to take initiative; and be reliable and honest.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Length of Contract: 191 days
Salary: Per Instructional Assistant salary schedule
