The Animal Training Department at Miami Seaquarium is currently hiring hardworking, dedicated individuals who are excited to work with marine mammals in an engaging, fast-paced environment.
Job Description:
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Daily care, training, and husbandry of bottlenose dolphins, seals, and sea lions
- Diet preparation, vitamin and medication distribution
- Habitat cleaning and maintenance
- Performing in educational shows or guest interactive programs (both on land and in the water)
- Public speaking and guest engagement
- Working in an outdoor environment with physical demands
- (must be able to lift 50 lbs daily)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent animal training experience
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong public speaking and communication skills
- Physical fitness to meet job demands
Preferred Qualifications:
- SCUBA certification
- CPR and lifeguard certification
- Current IMATA membership
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese preferred, but not required)
Schedule:
- 8 to 10-hour shifts
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Key Biscayne, FL before starting
