Location: Animal Care – Atlantic/Quarantine & Rehab
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Two years of experience of demonstrable and responsible experience in the management and care of a specific taxa to include supervisory experience is required. Additional experience with specific taxa may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a Driver’s License. Must be able to work days, nights, holiday, and weekends on a varied work schedule.
Recruitment Notes: This is professional work in managing and providing overall daily care, maintenance, and inspection of assigned exhibit areas, holding areas, and related public areas to ensure animal health and safety, staff safety, and public safety through standard operating procedures for animal care and exhibition as set forth by AZA, USDA, and Zoo Miami. In addition to providing exceptional customer service through engagement while creating friendly and positive interactions with all guests and co-workers. Zoo Miami is part of the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department (PROS) and is committed to inspire people through engaging experiences to preserve nature in South Florida and across the globe through our values of being Welcoming, Caring, Fun, Collaborative and Dedicated.
