The Director, Parking & Transportation will oversee all aspects of parking and mobility operations for loanDepot park on gamedays and non-gameday events. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that elevate the fan experience, ensure compliance, and strengthen partnerships with municipal agencies and third-party operators.
The position will drive both operational excellence and strategic innovation, leveraging technology, analytics, and infrastructure planning to deliver a seamless arrival and departure experience within all parking and transportation programs.
Essential Functions
The Director, Parking & Transportation will oversee all aspects of parking and mobility operations for loanDepot park on gamedays and non-gameday events. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that elevate the fan experience, ensure compliance, and strengthen partnerships with municipal agencies and third-party operators.
The position will drive both operational excellence and strategic innovation, leveraging technology, analytics, and infrastructure planning to deliver a seamless arrival and departure experience within all parking and transportation programs.
Essential Functions
- Fan Experience & Premium Programs
- Serve as on-site support during games and events, maintaining direct communication with parking partners to coordinate real-time operational adjustments and ensure seamless ingress, egress, and overall parking program oversight.
- Regularly review and analyze fan feedback metrics to identify trends, using insights to recommend and implement data-driven improvements that enhance the overall fan arrival and departure experience.
- Improve parking signage, wayfinding, and facility identification to aid fan navigation and satisfaction.
- Oversee Valet and VIP parking programs, conducting quality audits and incorporating fan feedback for continuous improvement.
- Partner with Communications department to disseminate proactive messaging for transportation solutions, arrival and departure instructions, and traffic expectations for games and events.
- Project Management & External Partnerships
- Lead collaboration with municipal agencies, engineers, and third-party operators to advance roadway and infrastructure improvements.
- Manage timelines, stakeholder communication, and project delivery with minimal disruption to venue operations.
- Serve as primary liaison with city and county agencies for traffic management, enforcement, and event coordination.
- Oversee relationships and performance standards for parking operators, ensuring alignment with Marlins’ guest experience expectations.
- Support integration of additional transportation solutions, including rideshare, shuttle, Brightline, Metromover, Metrorail, Tri Rail, and other public transit programs.
- Administration
- Govern internal comp parking request processes, serving as the primary approver and ensuring timely, policy-compliant review.
- Aid in the coordination and execution of off-site parking planning when applicable for events
- Input and track daily license plate information for the front office; assist with gameday and event day VIP parking lists.
- Respond to parking-related service emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage the review and processing of mailed invoices and promissory note appeals, including voids, refunds, and dismissals.
- Strategy, Revenue & Operations
- Develop and manage the annual Parking & Transportation operating budget.
- Partner with Finance team to prepare reports and analyses summarizing revenue and compliance metrics for executive review.
- Leverage technology such as license plate recognition, digital signage, and mobile payment to improve efficiency and compliance of free-flow parking system.
- Develop and execute strategies to elevate gameday parking revenues, meet or exceed annual targets, and identify new monetization opportunities.
- Oversee pricing models, forecasting, and expense tracking for all parking and transportation operations.
- Increase paid parking compliance and prepaid adoption through data-driven initiatives, automation, and fan education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, or related field required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in parking, transportation, or mobility management, ideally within professional sports, large public venues, or entertainment districts.
- Experience coordinating with civil engineers, contractors, and municipal agencies on roadway or infrastructure improvement projects.
- Working knowledge of traffic control planning, permitting processes, and compliance with municipal and FDOT standards.
- Demonstrated success driving parking revenue growth, compliance improvement, and guest satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of parking systems (notably free-flow), digital payment technologies, and event traffic logistics.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams, vendors, and multi-agency partnerships.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule (holidays, weekends, evenings)
- Proficiency and skill working within Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Excellent communication, budgeting, and analytical skills.
