Position Summary:
We’re seeking an independent contractor to manage and grow our retail presence. This is a hybrid role: you’ll serve as the face of the store during a consistent weekly schedule (~30 hours/week), while also curating displays, managing inventory, and organizing monthly events that drive engagement and sales. You’ll also greet and check in yoga students arriving for class. The right person will be passionate, entrepreneurial, and excited to contribute to something beautiful in its early growth stage.
This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position with base hourly pay and monthly commission bonuses tied to store performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff the store during agreed-upon weekly hours (~30 hrs/week), engaging customers, selling merchandise, and signing in yoga students
- Manage inventory: receive, tag, and track new items; maintain stock levels; communicate with vendors
- Lead visual merchandising and ensure the shop looks beautiful and cohesive
- Plan, promote, and execute monthly events (e.g., artisan features, pop-ups, workshops)
- Monitor sales and collaborate on creative strategies to meet targets
- Represent the spirit of the brand with warmth, presence, and professionalism
Qualifications:
- Retail or hospitality sales experience required; management experience a plus
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Warm and grounded presence—comfortable interacting with both yoga students and design-savvy shoppers
- Comfortable using a POS system and basic inventory tools
- Interest in handmade goods, global culture, and ethical retail
- Creative thinker who enjoys curating space and storytelling through objects
Compensation & Structure:
- This is a 1099 contractor role paid at $16/hour for scheduled store coverage (approx. 30 hours/week)
- Monthly commission bonuses based on store sales performance
