Executive Summary
The Program Manager takes full ownership of the studio’s daily operations, quality product manufacturing, and community presence. This role requires a unique blend of small business management, artistic vision, and a deep affinity for individuals with special needs.
The successful candidate will act as a mentor, maker, and entrepreneur who manages the program with the dedication of a business owner.
Core Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Vocational Training
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
- Educate students on all aspects of the manufacturing process, reinforcing technical and quality procedures and language.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and fun environment using positive reinforcement to make students feel empowered and accomplished.
- Set up daily workstations tailored to each student’s individual level of capability.
Business & Studio Operations
- Oversee daily operations, including studio cleanliness, organization, and session setup/cleanup, and after class tasks such as demolding, deburring, sanding, drilling, and adding flood coat to student’s work.
- Manage and organize raw materials and maintain inventory levels for all production
needs.
- Monitor spending and budgets in coordination with the Finance Director, including monthly expense reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, sales, and inventory.
Community Growth & Revenue Generation
- Identify and pursue participation in upscale local bazaar events and community partnerships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and new community partners to coordinate event participation.
- Develop creative workshops and parties (e.g., resin art sessions) for parents and the community to increase engagement and revenue.
Volunteer Leadership
- Manage and coordinate with the existing volunteer team and recruit additional volunteers as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Business Acumen: Proven track record in managing a small business or retail environment where the manager holds primary responsibility for operations.
- Artistic Proficiency: Creative in artistic expression with experience in visual merchandising and product presentation.
- Management Experience: Strong organizational skills with experience in program management, mentoring, and leadership.
- Technical Skills: Experience with business budgeting, planning, and inventory management (Excel, pricing, distribution).
- Personal Background: History of working with individuals with special needs (volunteer, mentor, caretaker, or relative).
