Job Title: Clinical Practical Nursing (PN) Instructor
Location: Miami Lakes Educational Center and Technical College – Miami, FEmployment Type: Part-Time
Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified and motivated Clinical Practical Nursing Instructor to provide high-quality clinical instruction and supervision to Practical Nursing (PN) students. The instructor will ensure students meet program, state, and accreditation standards while developing safe, competent, and professional nursing practice skills in clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct clinical instruction and supervision to PN students in approved healthcare facilities. Plan, implement, and evaluate clinical learning experiences aligned with the Florida Board of Nursing standards and program objectives. Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and document clinical progress and competencies. Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, HIPAA, and facility policies. Collaborate with program faculty, clinical sites, and administration to support student success. Maintain accurate clinical records, evaluations, and attendance documentation. Participate in curriculum development, program meetings, accreditation activities, and professional development as required. Serve as a professional role model, fostering ethical practice, accountability, and cultural competence.
Minimum Qualifications: Current, valid, and unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license (required). Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred). Minimum of six(6) years of recent clinical nursing experience. Eligibility to teach in a Florida-approved Practical Nursing program. Current BLS/CPR certification. Ability to meet clinical site requirements (background check, drug screening, immunizations). Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in nursing education. Experience working with adult learners in a technical or career education setting.
Skills and Competencies: Strong clinical judgment and communication skills. Ability to mentor, evaluate, and motivate diverse student populations. Effective organization, documentation, and classroom/clinical management skills. Proficiency with electronic documentation and learning management systems.
Work Environment: Clinical settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community healthcare sites within Miami-Dade County.
Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or variable hours based on clinical rotations.
