Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Caterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with a focus on catering, hospitality, and guest relations. This job requires a catering server who must have their own vehicle to transport food and supplies to event locations. The role involves not only serving guests but also the logistical tasks of setting up, delivering, and breaking down catering services, including handling food and equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary skills while delivering memorable experiences to our clients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- A personal vehicle is essential for transporting food, equipment, and supplies to and from events.
- Prepare and serve a variety of menu items in accordance with event specifications and quality standards
- Set up catering buffet stations, and serving areas
- Refer to temperature sheets provided for specific food items to ensure they are served and maintained at their correct temperature throughout the event.
- Provide excellent guest services by attending to guests’ needs and ensuring a positive experience
- Manage food presentation, plating, and portioning to meet aesthetic standards
- Assist with food safety practices, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures
- Coordinate with event staff to ensure timely delivery and service of food items
- Keep food service areas clean throughout the event, and pack up and clean the area completely after the event concludes, returning equipment to its proper storage and location of pick up.
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold high standards of hospitality
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry, catering, or banquet service is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent guest service skills with the ability to engage professionally with diverse clientele
- Experience in food preparation, serving, and hospitality environments such as restaurants or hotels is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or during special events as needed
- Good physical stamina for standing for extended periods and lifting moderate loads
- Relevant culinary or hospitality training is a plus but not mandatory
