What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Soccer Coach position at Miami FC Academy?
The Miami Football Club is Miami’s longest-tenured professional soccer club, which the competes in the United Soccer League’s (USL) top tier, The Championship.
The Miami FC Academy is the youth soccer program of Miami FC. The Academy provides soccer programs for the greater Miami youth community. Which includes competitive soccer teams for boys and girls from ages 9-19.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct practices 3-4 times per week during the youth season (May-August).
- Create a year-round training & match schedule.
- Attend all Friendlies, Tournament, and League games
- Provide formal player feedback periodically
- Establish a competitive but positive environment for all players
- Lead and manage team and parent communications.
- Schedule and lead staff meetings with the technical staff
- Plan and Submit training session and to Technical Director.
- Maintain a roster of minimum 18 players.
- Schedule and conduct individual player/parent meetings.
- Follow club curriculum and game model that aligns with first team.
- Work with Director of Operations and Team Manager to ensure all players and staff have fulfilled required documentation and are compliant.
- Attend Monthly Staff Meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
- US Soccer Federation USSF 'C' License or equivilent
- Minimum of 3 years soccer coaching experience
- Competent computer skills, including but not limited to the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, and craft emails.
- Strong team management and communication skills
- Enthusiastic, aggressive, self-starter, confident, professional, and a solutions-based problem-solver.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with and maintain relationships with all levels of Parents, Players, Coaching Staff, Directors, Volunteers, Vendors and Program partners.
- Ability to work independently, cooperatively, and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Obtain valid driver’s license and ability to travel to different locations.
- Ability to initiate, coordinate and organize schedules/tasks through to completion accurately and on time.
- Successfully pass criminal background check and complete Safesport and cardiac arrest training.
- Must be a US citizen or hold permanent resident status.
- Must live in South Florida.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
- Fosters teamwork throughout the Organization.
- Promotes Miami FC Vision, Mission and Philosophies.
- Plans and manages internal communications and awareness of organizational needs, administration and activities.
- Assists with special projects as directed by the Director of Coaching and Academy Director.
- Associated duties as assigned.
