- Prepare and review legal documents for probate proceedings, estate transfers, wills, trusts, and estate administration
- Conduct legal research on probate procedures, Florida statutes, and estate planning best practices
- Manage case files and deadlines using case management systems, and maintain organized, accurate documentation
- Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, agreements, and court filings
- Coordinate client interviews, and gather and organize estate and family law documentation
- Research and analyze estate assets, liabilities, and distribution requirements
- Support attorneys in probate litigation and contested estate matters
- Maintain compliance with court filing deadlines and procedural requirements
- Perform data entry and document review, and proofread for accuracy and completeness
Required:
- Minimum 3 years probate experience in a law office setting, no exceptions
- Deep knowledge of Florida probate law and estate administration procedures
- Proficiency with legal case management software, such as Clio, LexisNexis, or PCLaw
- Strong writing and legal research skills, with the ability to draft court documents
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Attention to detail in proofreading and document organization
- Effective client communication and interviewing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with family law matters involving estate planning or probate components
- Familiarity with trust administration and fiduciary accounting
- Experience managing contested probate or estate litigation
