Pastry Line Cook

POSITION PURPOSE:

Cipriani is seeking a hospitality driven and detail oriented Pastry Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role is responsible for the preparation and execution of desserts and pastry items during service, ensuring consistency, precision, and presentation in line with Cipriani’s standards of simplicity and elegance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced, luxury environment and demonstrates strong foundational pastry skills with a commitment to excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

• Prepare and execute plated desserts, pastries, and garnishes according to established recipes and service standards
• Set up and maintain the pastry station for service, always ensuring readiness and organization
• Accurately measure, mix, and prepare components including creams, sauces, batters, doughs, and fillings
• Plate desserts with precision, consistency, and attention to presentation
• Assist in the preparation of mise en place for daily service and upcoming production needs
• Monitor quality, portioning, and timing to ensure seamless service execution
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, equipment, and storage areas
• Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with inventory management and notify leadership of low stock or supply needs
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in accordance with company policies
• Collaborate with the pastry and broader culinary team to support overall kitchen operations

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Formal training in pastry arts or culinary field preferred
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a pastry or dessert-focused kitchen
• Strong understanding of basic pastry techniques and dessert plating
• Experience working in a high-volume or fine dining environment preferred
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION: 

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Endurance to withstand long hours of standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
• Lift and carry objects, weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks.
• Adherence to proper lifting techniques and ergonomics to prevent strain or injury while performing job duties.
