Position Overview
As a Porter at The Club at The Moore, your primary responsibility is to provide support to the overall kitchen operation by organizing and cleaning various kitchen items, including pots, pans, silverware, dishware, glassware, and kitchen equipment. Your diligent efforts will contribute to maintaining cleanliness, order, and efficiency in the kitchen.
In this role, you will take proactive measures to complete various tasks. This includes discarding rubbish as needed throughout your shift, operating industrial cleaning equipment such as the dishwasher, and occasionally assisting the Chef on Duty with their responsibilities.
The key to success as a Porter lies in your ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes and equipment are properly cleaned and stored in their designated areas. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will play a vital role in upholding the high standards of the Club at The Moore.
Qualifications:Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Porter or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to effectively organize and clean kitchen items, ensuring they are stored in the appropriate areas.
- Familiarity with operating industrial cleaning equipment, such as dishwashers, and following proper cleaning procedures.
- Proactive approach to completing tasks and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Willingness to arrive early for work, allowing sufficient time to settle and be briefed on previous and upcoming services.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support the Chef on Duty and work collaboratively with the kitchen team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle and manipulate objects with hands, including seizing, grasping, turning, and holding.
- Capability to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements required to navigate various areas of the club.
- Ability to lift, pull, carry, or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds regularly.
- Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing as required.
