OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

The District Coordinator manages the day-to-day business operations, including Budget, Human Resources, Grants Administration, and Administrative Services.

The District Coordinator works closely with the WLRN Management Liaison to review and monitor the business operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with district policies.

This role includes supervisory responsibilities over other staff and collaborates with WLRN’s media manager to ensure compliance with federal, state, and District policies including the Media and Program Service Agreement (MPSA).

 

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

1.          Supports WLRN Management Liaison in enforcement of the MPSA with the media manager.

2.          Supports the team by effectively managing day-to-day operational needs, ensuring clarity of direction and appropriate resource allocation.

3.          Prioritizes projects, assigns tasks, and monitors the progress of implementation strategies and/or deliverables.

4.          Assists in facilitating efficiency and effectiveness of business operations to identify opportunities, solve problems, and meet the overall requirements of M-DCPS.

5.          Collaborates and works cooperatively with offices, departments, and staff to ensure adherence to the district's standards and best practices.

6.          Oversees finance, payroll, human capital management processes, and general administrative support functions.

7.          Leads WLRN’s yearly audit and works closely with the District’s Accounting Department and the media manager to provide accurate financial records.

8.          Audits internal files periodically to ensure proper recordkeeping of the station’s financial transactions.

9.          Seeks grants and business partnerships, as appropriate.

10.       Performs other duties related to general administrative responsibilities of the position.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work requires the following physical activities: mobility, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS           

1.          Bachelor’s Degree Education, Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

2.          Minimum of three (3) years experience in public administration, education, personnel, public relations, law-related field, or equivalent.

3.          Knowledge of computer software and technology pertinent to area of specification.  

4.          Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

Conferred Transcripts with a Graduation Date: Current M-DCPS employees do not need to submit official transcripts if highest degree earned is on file in the Office of Personnel Records (305-995-7258). For external candidates, official transcripts will be required if you are recommended for the position. Your degree must be from an accredited university. If the position does not require a college degree, you are required to have at least a high school diploma. Candidates with academic training and degrees granted outside the U.S. must submit a credential evaluation report that includes a statement of degree equivalency from an accredited agency in the U.S.

 

Screening of Applications: Following the application deadline a screening committee will review the applications. Candidates will be notified of the screening results by email.

Candidates will be invited to complete a written essay prior to the Initial Interview. Candidates who are successful in the Initial Interview will be invited to a Final Interview. M-DCPS employees who are moved to a final interview will require a reference evaluation from their immediate supervisor. Our office will email form #3506 (reference evaluation) to the Supervisor.
