Miami Country Day School is seeking a dynamic Director of Aquatics to lead and grow a comprehensive aquatics program that serves students, families, and the broader community. JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Aquatics provides strategic leadership, vision, and operational oversight for all aquatic programming. This role oversees interscholastic swimming and water polo, competitive club teams, learn-to-swim programs, and facility operations. The Director is responsible for building a culture of excellence, driving program growth, and ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-performing aquatics environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS:
- Leads daily operations of the Aquatics Center, including scheduling, staffing, safety, and budgeting

Serves as Head Coach for Varsity Swimming and Water Polo teams

Directs and coaches the MCDS USA Swimming Club Team

Oversees learn-to-swim programs, private lessons, and group instruction

Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates coaches, lifeguards, and instructors

Plans and executes swim meets, water polo events, and competitions

Manages facility rentals and partnerships, including collegiate training programs

Develops and implements strategies to grow enrollment and generate revenue

Monitors budgets, track financial performance, and align programs with strategic goals

Ensures compliance with all safety standards, certifications, and risk management protocols

Partners with internal teams to market programs and enhance community engagement

Fostesr a high level of customer experience and family satisfaction
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required

ASCA and/or USA Swimming Certification preferred

Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, First Aid/CPR/AED required

Minimum of 5 years of progressive aquatics experience, including leadership

Demonstrated success in club management, programming, budgeting, and recruitment
