LOCATION: Samaritan Hospital, Troy, New York START: ASAP WEEKS: 13 HOURS: 40 Gross Weekly Rate: $2080.00 plus paid travel ***Non-Benefited Position*** The Practice Manager for the department of Anesthesia is responsible for the operational, financial, and administrative management of the anesthesia department which supports all surgical and procedural areas across Samaritan Hospital. This role ensures efficient staffing, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care through collaboration with our anesthesia providers, surgical teams, and hospital leadership. The Practice Manager will oversee day-to-day department operations including: maintenance of monthly staffing schedule (daytime and call coverage) to ensure appropriate coverage of surgical and procedural areas; payroll and human resource functions; and supports in the recruitment and onboarding of anesthesia providers. The Practice Manager will perform all job functions in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the St. Peter’s Health Partner’s mission and core values. Responsibilities: Operational Management Oversee daily operations of anesthesia services, including scheduling, coverage and workflow optimization; ability to strategize and flex staffing in real-time to ensure full coverage of anesthetizing sites. Must coordinate and communicate schedule changes to stakeholders in real-time (providers; operational leaders; etc.). Responsible for payroll. Assumes support for the management of human, fiscal, material, and facility resources. Coordinates with OR and procedural leadership to align anesthesia staffing with surgical and procedural case volumes. Manages / supports anesthesia provider onboarding, credentialing, and orientation process. Work closely with the medical staff credentialing & payer credentialing departments to ensure timely submission of applications and documents. Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between anesthesia providers, surgical teams, nursing, and hospital administration. Facilitates regular communication and feedback loops to address concerns and improve service delivery. Lead initiatives to enhance provider engagement, retention, and professional development. Financial Oversight: Work closely with Revenue Integrity to review Anesthesia billing and chart errors and ensure corrections are complete timely. Facilitate monthly meetings with billing company to ensure KPIs are achieved and assist with any internal barriers to billing & collections. Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission and other state regulatory bodies related to anesthesia services. Maintains up to date departmental policies and procedures in collaboration with clinical and operational leadership to ensure accuracy and alignment. Responsible for the measurement and tracking of quality indicators. Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in the medical field, preferably in perioperative or anesthesia services. Experience with EMR Systems (Epic). Proficiency with Microsoft Office; intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel preferred. Strong attention to detail and organization. Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to work independently, yet function collaboratively within a team. Education: Associates degree required. Ability to lift 20 lbs.
